Contest Term:

 "Recreate an Ancestor Photo" contest begins on December 21, 2014, and runs

until January 31, 2015.

 

There will be 3 prizes awarded:

1st Place: $50 Amazon Gift Card

2nd Place: $25 Amazon Gift Card

3rd Place: $10 Amazon Gift Card

 

Who may Enter:

Anyone may enter.

 

What to enter:

Find an ancestor photo you want to recreate. Take a look-a-like photo and place it next to the original photo. With the photos side by side create one photo. (Please see the examples on the Contest Page)

 

Appropriate photos only. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible. Photos with minors in it must have permission from their parent or guardian.

 

How to enter:

Step 1:

Follow @makefamilyhistory on Instagram

 

Step 2:

Upload your photo (side by side to your ancestor photo) to Instagram and tag @makefamilyhistory AND #ancestorphotocontest.

Please include how you are related to the person's photo you are recreating.

 

Step 3:

Share your awesome photo on Facebook

 

Step 4:

See if you won!

Winners will be announced on February 5th

 

 

Entry deadline:

Entries must be submitted by midnight, MST, on January 31th to qualify.

One entry per individual.

 

 

Judging:

Judging of the  contest will be conducted by the editors of Makefamilyhistory.org. Winning photographs will be announced on Makefamilyhistory.org and Instagram on February 5, 2015.

 

Makefamilyhistory.org will notify the winners via Instagram. Makefamilyhistory.org may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within

ten business days.

Q: Do I have to be related to the person who’s photo I am recreating?

A: Yes. Somewhere in your entry please state how you are related to the person in the photograph.

 

Q: Can I enter more than once?

A: No. Each person may only enter once.

 

Q: Can I mail in the photos?

A: No. Please submit a copy of your photo through Instagram.

 

Q: Is there an age limit for who can enter?

A: No. Parent or Legal Guardian permission is required for anyone

under the age of 18.

 

Q: Can more than one person be in the photo?

A: Yes. (Please note: there is only one gift card awarded per winning photo.)
